HOW STAKEWAR WORKS

THE BASICS
It’s a 10×10 grid. 100 cells. Each cell is a pixel of digital territory on the Base blockchain. Cells start empty. You claim one by locking USDC into a smart contract.
Once a cell is yours, you upload an image — your logo, your meme, your face. The image lives on IPFS, your ownership lives on-chain.
Then the game starts.
HOW CLAIMING WORKS
To claim an empty cell:
- → Click any empty cell on the grid
- → Lock USDC (min 1 USDC, no maximum)
- → Upload an image (optional but recommended)
- → Sign two transactions:
approve, thenclaim
Where does your money go?
- → 96% stays locked in the cell — your stake
- → 4% goes to the protocol treasury
The more you lock, the more expensive it is for someone to take you.
THE CAPTURE MECHANIC
Anyone can take any cell for 125% of its locked value.
The cell’s locked value resets to $12.50 — what the attacker paid. The next capture will cost 125% of that = $15.63. Every capture raises the bar.
The new owner can now upload their image. Your image is gone. But your ownership history is on-chain forever — anyone can see who held this cell, what they paid, and what image they showed.
EPOCHS & REWARDS
Every 3 days, an epoch ends.
When it does, if the reward pool holds at least 50 USDC, the top 5 cell holders split the entire pool:
Ranking is by CELL COUNT — not USD locked. Five small cells beat one expensive one.
When the epoch ends, anyone can trigger settlement. The triggering wallet gets a 1% bounty as a thank-you for paying gas.
If the pool is under 50 USDC, the epoch auto-extends. No tiny payouts.
TREASURES
Every claim and capture has a 2.5% chance to trigger a treasure drop. Six possible rewards:
Treasures are funded by the protocol — free bonuses, no risk to you, no cost to take them.
WHY THIS WORKS
Most “stake to rank” projects are just collection schemes. StakeWar is different because the money keeps moving.
- → Cell owners always recover 80% of the price on capture — their full stake
- → The 16% pool fee gets redistributed to top holders
- → The 4% protocol fee funds development and treasures
No Ponzi math. No promised returns. Just a game where holding pays off and trying to take it costs something.
GET ON THE GRID
StakeWar runs on Base Sepolia testnet right now. Funds are simulated — no real money required.
Five steps take you from zero to your first claimed cell. Mainnet launch on Base follows the testing phase.
INSTALL A WALLET
Install MetaMask, Rabby, or any Ethereum-compatible wallet:
- → metamask.io (most popular, but glitchy on Base Sepolia)
- → rabby.io (cleaner UX on testnets, recommended)
Browser extension version works best on desktop.
ADD BASE SEPOLIA NETWORK
In your wallet → Networks → Add custom network:
Network name: Base Sepolia RPC URL: https://sepolia.base.org Chain ID: 84532 Currency: ETH Block Explorer: https://sepolia.basescan.org
Or visit chainlist.org/?testnets=true → search ‘Base Sepolia’ → ‘Add to wallet’ (one click).
GET TESTNET ETH FOR GAS
You need a tiny amount of ETH to pay transaction fees (~$0.001 each).
Free testnet ETH faucets:
- → alchemy.com/faucets/base-sepolia (0.1 ETH/day)
- → faucet.quicknode.com/base/sepolia (0.05 ETH/day)
- → coinbase.com/faucets/base-ethereum-sepolia-faucet
Paste your wallet address → request → wait ~30 seconds. 0.005 ETH covers dozens of claims and captures.
GET TESTNET USDC
To claim cells you need testnet USDC (fake, no value):
Get free 10 USDC every 2 hours at faucet.circle.com
Select ‘Base Sepolia’ network, paste address, click receive.
Note: Circle’s faucet geo-blocks some regions (Ukraine, Russia, others). Use a VPN if blocked.
The USDC contract on Base Sepolia is:
0x036CbD53842c5426634e7929541eC2318f3dCF7e
Add it as a custom token in your wallet to see your balance.
CONNECT AND PLAY
On stakewar.com:
- 1.Click ‘Connect Wallet’ → choose your wallet
- 2. Switch to Base Sepolia if prompted
- 3. Click any empty cell on the 10×10 grid
- 4. Enter amount to lock (min 1 USDC)
- 5. Upload an image (optional)
- 6. Sign two transactions: approve USDC, then claim
- 7. Your cell appears with your image and color
That’s it. You own a piece of the grid.
